本研究では，内在塩化物量を変化させた大型鉄筋コンクリート試験体に対して，ひび割れ幅測定，自然電位法，塩化物量評価法(ドリル削孔法，蛍光X線法)，反発速度比測定法，および分極抵抗法(3電極法，4電極法)を適用し，コア試料採取および鉄筋腐食率により精度検証した。その結果，各塩化物量評価法は浅い位置で雨掛かりによりばらつきが大きくなること，反発速度比測定法は載荷試験結果より高い強度を推定すること，分極抵抗法は手法同士の指標の大小傾向は一致するが，腐食率とは整合しないことがわかった。このように，破壊可能かつ経年を有する大型試験体の活用により，各試験法の適用性と課題を明らかにできた。
